Dr. Jeffrey Thompson has been researching the effects of sound frequencies and music on the mind and body since 1981. He has produced over 50 CDs and audio tapes which are currently being used by health practitioners as well as the general public in 26 countries. He teaches Ph.D. courses in Behavioral Psychoacoustics and Clinical Sound Therapy. He also has a private sound therapy practice at The Neuroacoustic Research Center in Encinitas, California.

Review: I have many CDs of this type and by Dr Thompson. He delivers what he promises: a very relaxing massage of the brain. I do warn against listening to this while driving or walking as it definitely zones me out in a few places.

Review Summary: Balance for the Right and Left Brain
Review: This CD does what it says it does: it balances the right and left hemispheres of the brain. I've always been extremely right-brained, and have found it difficult to feel part of the world of the more predominant left-brainers. When I found this CD, I was skeptical, but I'm glad I gave it a try.

I started listening to it everyday, and from the very first time, I noticed a huge difference in my thinking. It was a big adjustment, but I kept going. Now, I'm using my right and left hands together, and seem to be more balanced all the way around. I used to grimace when faced with simple math and logic, and now it comes so easily. I'm glad to have become more acquainted with the left side of my brain, thanks to this CD.

I've shared it with others who are more left-brain dominant, and they enjoy it, too. They report feeling more intuitive and creative in their thinking after listening, so it appears that it really does do exactly what it says it does.

This particular CD does not say which brainwaves it uses. It seems to be more of a perk-you-up CD than a calm-you-down CD, though. Highly recommended.

Review: I typically listen to music before I go to bed or as I go to bed. This CD is in heavy rotation for heavy relaxation. It is very tranquil and easy to fall asleep to. With or without headphones, put this on and enjoy.
