Review Summary: Friends of Mr. Cairo
Review: This is a fun music track and brings back fond memories of when this CD was first introduced to me. My husband and I drove from So. CA to Seattle to stay with friends. Our friend played the song, "Friends of Mr. Cairo" for us and we were entranced from the first moment. It gets you involved cos they're telling a story and it's lush with visuals. The opening grabs you and holds you through the entire song. This is our second purchase of the CD...my husband let a co-worker borrow it and we haven't seen it since!

Review Summary: Wow what an album!
Review: I had never heard of that album before somebody made me listen to the vynil version of this one. And it is really awesome! It's really a classic of his genre; the title track is really incredible. I recommend it to every Yes and Vangelis fans of course, but to old progressive rock fans too.

Review Summary: A must-have for Yes fans!
Review: Probably still available for the unforgettable title track, the real gem on here is "State of Independence", with vocals as good as any Jon every did for Yes. Plus three more Yes-worthy efforts, and really, not a bad track on the album. Worthwhile!!

Review Summary: One the best, if not the best of Jon & Vangelis
Review: This work is a jewel, a must have for collectors of either Mr. Anderson or Mr. Vangelis fans, or just fans of good 1980s music or progressive. This work dictated the pace of many other works that followed; including Donna Summer's version of State of Independence (I think the version here is much better though). The piece Friends of Mr. Cairo is just to good, a real creative work that only Jon and Vangelis could accomplish together

Review Summary: Friends of Mr. Cairo...
Review: The standout track here is definitely the clever "Friends of Mr. Cairo."
The music can sometimes lean towards the cheesy side, but the collaboration between these two is amazing! Get it for that one track!
The only con is that this album DESPERATELY needs some remastering! The audio is pretty bad, but until then, I guess this will do.
